News!

This is trully a new day!
Finally I'm accesing Internet from home (although through a ISDN router as I could not find now the necessary time to setup a Linux server so that it could act as the ISDN router) but, nevertheless, it does serve the purpouse!

So, I'm now going to take breakfast as I came to the computer when I got up.
I'll be here latter, I hope!

A good say for all, and a special wish of good recovery for the guys at Speakeasy after the unfortune hazard of last night!

Getting mail....

I'm geting mail from one of the accounts I have......
This is a shared account, which I access form diferent places, to which I have forward the mail from my main email account....

Everything if going to their right places!.....

Damn proxies!

Probabily it's I who is already unacostumed to the "facts of live" of Internet access through phone lines......

But one thing I do hate is the fact that I'm forced to go through proxies that, normally, ARE NOT totally transparent!....

Well, if that means that I'll need a payed account on a ISP, that's fine with me.
I just don't want to try do something an it just don't work!...

Internet....

Like all things in life, I guess, once it is part of our day's life, its quite dificult to do without it!
I don't have time to surf the Internet but the possibility is gives of communication (mainly through email an LJ, at least for me) and the access to the necessary resources and information is something quite hard to be without, I must confess!

It's like having a car; once we get accostumed to be able to go anywere we want or need, whenever we want it, is also very dificult to do without it!

Well, I have to go out for a while, but latter I'll be here as I work a little more.

Proxies....

Well, I've just setup a free account through Telepac (one of the main ISPs here in Portugal) and set up the required proxy.
I know that it's going to be an issue as when I arrive at the office, most probably, I'll have to disconect the proxy to have access through this lap top, and when I arrive here again I'll have to re-connect it, and so forth.

But, at least, I'm only paying the phone call and not access time from my father's account, that he borrowed me to make this configuration....

Nothing like trying in the actual sitation and figure as it goes!... :-)))

PHP code without server to test it....

I'm writting PHP code (continuing the application I'm writting) but here I don't have any possibility to test it as I do write it.... :-((((

Not only I do not have a Linux server with Apache configured, where I can deply the code and test it, right away, as the Mandrake 7.0 I have here installed in the laptop, doesn't have PHP installed.....
Anyway, this let's me write the code I already have in my head and tommorow, at the office, I can just start by testing it!.

So let's see how this goes....

(no subject)

As soon this application and this platform is ready, I do have to use some of almost non existent free time to make some applications for my own use, so I can carry less paper related with what I do have in hands!.... :-)))

And that wil, undoubtlly, be fun to develop!

Well, back to work!

It seams that my son woke up, finally....
So I think that a break is due and I'll go out a little with him (if he just want's it, of course!.... :-)))) )

(I do have a very strong willed small guy in the familly, so his oppinion is not only important as it is almost indispensable to be taken into account!....
And with 3 years and a few months, we does know very well what he want's and what he doesn't! And he always makes and marks his choices, so, whenever possible, I do try to take them into account... :-)))) )

Near the servers, making some uploads to one of them, so I can make then after their download at home and in the office.....

well, although I wasn't able to advance all I wanted in the application, the day has been quite productive!
