Light out!

I've just had about 30 minutes of a total power failure here in the area....

So, I'm now restarting the servers and doing disk maintenance in one of them that had some errors in one of the disk partitions.

Lately (in the last months) these power failures have happened from time to time.
I have un UPS but it can only handle the computers for the necessary time for shutdown. I need to be able to buy more batteries so that it can run longer.... And I've been looking also for a power generator so I could, in case of a power failure, run on the UPS for a while as the generator starts and then be able to run for hours independently of the outside power distribution....
But is has a high cost and I can't afford it right now... :-(((((

Well, we'll se what will be possible until the end of the year....

Calypso Email....

One of the Calypso Email folders I had opened here when my work computer just stopped due to the power failure, has just been recovered without errors....

Good!

VMWare starting....

The Linux runned under VMWare here on my working computer is now starting and verifying all disk's integrity.....

I just hope it finds no errors...

Events and consequences....

The power failure this night has made me have to change the schedules planned for today.
In fact, what I soul have been starting at 7h30 I'm about to start now (11h00).

But I think that it all went quite well despite the fact that I've been up almost all night (I think I slept a little when I was waiting for a partition on a disk to have the errors it came up with corrected....)
As soon as I get back (hope it doesn't take long), I'll be back into programming....

Until then, a good day to you all!

(no subject)

This is an update from the WEB interface as I'm right now in a client installing a WIndows NT 4.0.

But this one gave me a fight as the 40 GB disk was only seen as having 8 GBytes..... (the damn 1024 cylinder limit!)

I've been arround this all week and today I tryied a different aproach....
If Linux (Mandrake 7.0) sees the disk in the whole, let's use it to make the second partition and see if the NT 4.0 can see it after with the right size....

And bingo!

Now I'm almost finished and as soon I finish here I have a lot of programming to catch up.....

See you all then!

Dinner...

I've just arrived and I'm here seeing who much email I've got....

I'm going upstairs to have dinner and then I'll be back.
See you all then!
