Any one does know Gaelic?
I would like, very much, to know the exact meaning of the sentence:

The Noose and the Ghillie (This is the title of a song sung by The Tannahill Weavers....)

I do believe that I already know the meaning of Ghillie and thus suspect the meaning on Noose but, I don't know for sure and would very much like to know it.

Can anyone help me?

is that the correct spelling?? there's a word like ghillie that means child... is that what you were thinking?

Realy, I don't know if the spelling is correct or not as I've already seen it written if a few slightly diferent ways; I think, though, that won't be very different...

From my deduction's it should be boy or the scottish "lad", so I think that it is close enough....

I would like to know more about the language but, unfortunelly, I don't... :-(((((
